ATEBIO – a scientific research project whose key members are representatives of the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i. (UIACH), the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University (FaF UK), the University Hospital in Hradec Králové and the companies WATREX Praha s. r. o. and Elphogene s. r. o., was launched on February 18, 2025.

The ATEBIO project (Advanced Techniques for Biomedical Diagnostics) was selected for funding within the prestigious national call for Intersectoral Cooperation of the Jan Amos Comenius Operational Programme (OP JAK) announced by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Its primary goal is to develop cooperation between research organizations and the application sphere, support the transfer of research results into practical use, and thus improve the innovative capacities of Czech companies and research institutions.

The key areas of the project are innovations in biomedical diagnostics and the development of new diagnostic techniques that will contribute to improving healthcare.

Watrex Praha’s role in the project
Watrex Praha is actively involved in the development of automated solutions for sample preparation, which will be key for their subsequent analysis. The automation of these processes will significantly speed up the entire workflow and simplify sample handling. In addition to research activities, our experts are also involved in the teaching and training of future specialists, thereby facilitating the transfer of know-how between the academic and application spheres.

By the end of 2028, two interconnected research projects will be implemented, the
results of which include both scientific publications and application outputs, such as functional samples
of instrumentation, proven technologies, utility models and patent applications.
