Description
Simple manual device for accurate and reproducible sample injecting in HPLC. Consists of Rheodyne 7725i injecting valve, 20 ul sample loop, 10 ul Hamilton syringe and holder for mounting of the valve to a pump or to a detector. MIK 010 enables injection of 1 ul to 5 ml of a sample according to used sample loop.
Two different modes of injection exist:
- Partially filled loop. In this mode the sample loop is partially filed by calibrated syringe in LOAD position and after changing to INJECT position, the sample is washed to a column. This mode is less accurate then following one.
- Overloaded loop. Accurate calibrated sample loop is overloaded in LOAD position by large volume of a sample and after changing to INJECT position, the sample is injected to a column with great accuracy.
Patented Make-Before-Break (MBB) architecture of valve allows continuous flow between LOAD and INJECT positions which greatly reduces pressure shocks that can damage chromatographic column.
